Bright & Cheery Amnesia

Amelie’s not really sure what’s going on right now - she doesn’t particularly recognize the bedroom she’s in, and she really doesn’t recognize the shockingly attractive blonde bombshell she is apparently sharing a bed with.

Even if she had gotten drunk enough to have the kind of memory gap she’s currently sporting, there is no amount of alcohol that would have gotten her confident enough for this. Plus, she’s sixteen, Mama will kill her if she finds out that she’s been drinking.

Wait, no, don’t escape from reality, Amelie. Escape from this bedroom. Just slowly move out from under the covers and - WHAT IS SHE WEARING?!

Acting on complete autopilot as she moves, Amelie grabs the pillow that was under her and just ducks into the nearest door once she’s out of the bedroom. Crouching down, she holds the pillow over her face and starts screaming.

“...world?”

"Yes, we're in my world, the Fairy Tale Kingdom known as Ever After." said Apple, gesturing to the scenery.

It was very green out there with a charming old timey feel to it.

Amelie stares blankly.

What the hell has she been doing for the past few years.

"There's a lot to catch up on now come to think about it," admitted Apple.

[onaroll]

Amelie nods nervously, not entirely sure what to say.

[cidery]

"I suppose we'll have to recount from the beginning as best as possible," said Apple. "Perhaps as we walk?"

[onaroll]

Amelie nods and finishes the last of her breakfast.

“That...sounds nice.”

She might get to hold Apple’s hand.

[cidery]

There will be the most lewdest of handholding just you wait.

"All right, let me finish up here, and we'll clean up and go out. Okay?"

[onaroll]

“Oui!”

A slight pause as Amelie considers the...’sleepwear’ she’s still wearing.

“Ah...could you help me find my suit, as well?”

[cidery]

"Your suit? Oh yes, your suit. Goodness I remember that thing. You were wearing it when I met you." said Apple.

"Well, we've got a wardrobe now. Why don't we check that out then? The suit is hanging up there too."

[onaroll]

...did she stop wearing the suit at some point? Strange.

“Ah, merci beaucoup...”

More like, there were MORE suits available later on that suited Amelie's tastes.

"We just had it cleaned too."

[onaroll]

Freshly cleaned suit smell! Hooray!

Amelie is pretty sure she remembers the way back to the bedroom, so she’ll just get to that now.

Apple giggles as she busies herself with her own food, to prep for the day before she too heads over to get changed. No sense putting this off for the time being, right?

[onaroll]

And then:

"APPLE!"

Amelie rushes in with her shirt unbuttoned and without any pants, holding an envelope.

"This was hidden in my vest!"

She presents the envelope to Apple. Written on the front is Instructions for Apple in case I suddenly have amnesia. Younger me, please don't open this!

Oh, she had prepared for this, why didn't she expect this? Right... Taking it, she flipped it open, and started to read. Seduce, night on the town, and oh oh okay.

Smiling, she tucked the envelope into her dress and said, "All right, well then, I think we'll have the best day ever, if that's all right with you."

"Oui!"

Older Her, you're amazing! Fantastique!

Hug. Hug first then.

"I was told to hug you first, and tell you that he made his choices, and it's not your fault. And the rest of the day should be happy."

[onaroll]

Amelie stops.

There's a long, long moment of silence before she looks at Apple, tears gathering in her eyes.

"I...it's...not my fault?"

[cidery]

"No. It's definitely, 100% not. Your. Fault. He made his own choices. He's an adult, who made his own choices. You couldn't stop him, and he made his decisions for himself."

He knew she had baggage about this Lysandre person, and it always weighed on her.

[onaroll]

Amelie clings onto Apple and wails.

There's grief in there, but mixed in is a sense of absolution.

Apple let her cling to her, and let all that grief out. For her, it was a fresh wound, and she wanted to let her get it out for herself.

[onaroll]

It takes a while, but eventually she’s cried out and just hiccups a little as she buries her face in Apple’s shoulder.

“T-thank you...”

"I'll be here for you," said Apple, holding her close. "Trust me."

[onaroll]

Amelie raises her face up and smiles.

“I do.”
