Meet The Parents - ~Gilding The Lilly~ Ver. Featuring Apple & Amelie
Well, it's finally happened. After the Duck connected them to Moon, Amelie knew it was only a matter of time before she would go home and introduce her wife to her parents. She is a little worried about how it's going to go, however - from her perspective, it's been three years since she saw them; from their perspective, it's been a little over a month.
She's pretty sure there aren't many good scenarios where a sixteen year old girl drops out of society for a month and then returns married. However: there's nothing to it but to do it, because there is not a single part of her life Apple isn't a part of. As she throws open the door to her old house, she calls out in a voice she wants to be cheerful but isn't quite up to snuff.
"I'm home, Mama! Can you set an extra place for dinner? I bought company!"

"Even a terrible little thing like you still needs to eat, I suppose..."
Amelie. Your weird tsundere act with a bird is ruined by the fact you still have your tails on display. And they are wagging.

Amelie's tsundere act is so cute.

"...for some reason, it doesn't take any effort at all to maintain that one, so I forgot I had it active..."

“Sounds accurate. Well, let’s dig in!”

‘She did.’
‘Is she always...?’
‘Yes.’
‘Adorable!’
‘I know.’

“If you want, we could all go to Restaurant Le Wow in Lumiose for lunch tomorrow?”
Grace and Tadashi stop eating and stare at Amelie when this is suggested.
“...Amelie, doesn’t that place cost around a hundred thousand Poke? For one person?”
Amelie stares back blankly, not understanding quite what they’re getting at. Her parents look at each other for a moment before Grace speaks again.
“...sweetheart? How much do you actually make as a Trainer?”
Amelie thinks about it for a moment before answering.
“The average is about 400,000, I guess? 800,000 if I don’t do anything else that day.”
‘That day’. It’s Tadashi that speaks next, his voice slightly stunned.
“Lucky flower...are you saying your annual salary, just from Pokemon battles, is at minimum nearly one hundred and fifty million Poke?”
Amelie nods.
“That sounds about right, oui.”

"It's not that I've actually hadn't had to do that before. But you should see how much Ashlynn pays for shoes. I mean, daughter of Cinderella."

"A normal Trainer battle will get you enough money for, perhaps...a bottle of lemonade and a sandwich? Professional Trainers like Amelie are apparently so far beyond that we have no frame of reference to teach her how to budget."
Amelie looks confused and indignant.
"I can budget!"
At this, Tadashi turns to her.
"My little flower. You just casually suggested we spend more on our lunch than I make in a month."
no subject
"But then again, it'll be fun!"

Tadashi trails off at the Look Amelie adopts the instant he mentions Le Yeah. Grace snaps her fingers in front of Amelie's face to get her attention and raises one eyebrow as she looks at her.
"Le Yeah has two stars because they use avant-garde ingredients to cover their substandard techniques. I would not trust them to produce a croque monsieur properly, much less something I would be expected to feed to my family. If I went somewhere based on price, it'd almost certainly be Le Nah, which is much more worthy of two stars than Le Yeah."
Amelie has very strong opinions about the Lumiose restaurant scene, and it's kind of sad more people don't ask her about them.

The restaurant crawl is one of Amelie’s greatest triumphs, and her mood is instantly improved thinking of it.

Amelie’s underselling it.

"Still, we should probably all figure out where to go for dinner then," said Apple.

“Ah...I like Le Wow, but...”
Amelie glances up from beneath her lashes, looking almost shy.
“Could I...could I show you my favorite cafe?”
There’s a pause as Grace reaches out, a tender smile on her face...and gives Amelie a light cuff to the back of the head.
“That’s all we ever wanted, you silly Swanna. Don’t try to impress us with expensive places. Just take us somewhere you’re happy. Honestly, where did you pick up that bad habit...”
